Bevan, who’s been with Welsh Rugby’s governing body since April 2023, will make the switch to the Gallagher Premiership giants in December.x

His new role is part of a wider restructure at Welford Road following the summer departure of general manager Richard Wilks and the addition of club legend Dan Cole as recruitment and retention manager.

Bevan — who previously spent five years with USA Rugby and worked with England Cricket as their strength and conditioning coach from 2009 to 2014 — called the Tigers move a “brilliant opportunity.”

“There wouldn’t be many jobs that would make me leave Wales, but this is one of the great clubs with a rich rugby history,” Bevan said. “I’m looking forward to supporting their evolution.”

Tigers head coach Geoff Parling added:

“Welcome to Huw, who I’m looking forward to working with to help build some solid foundations for success. It’s a key appointment and great to get someone of his calibre and personality on board.”

Another key figure departs the WRU — and Leicester’s rebuild gathers even more steam.
